STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I must say that I’ve been lucky to be born in a family, which fully appreciates and understands the importance of and values of good education. My parents always want me to aim for and achieve the best. I gave and continue to give my best shots in whatever I do with regard to my education. I am basically a very simple person with high aims. I believe in simple living and esteemed values. I would like to give back to my own country, contributing my own way after I get back on completing my education. I would like to learn in the best scientific atmosphere as our country, unfortunately our country doesn’t boast of such facilities. I want to know in the most advanced way so that I can do so accordingly by giving back the same to develop my country in the field of Nursing, which is considered to be the backbone of the healthcare industry. I do hope that with flair I have for this type of higher education. I can put in the best efforts and do same thing for my society and the country. I am confident that I can put in my best to have a satisfying career to make me a full human being.

My interest in Health care started off on ignorance, moved on to reluctant interest, and then to liking, then I had to come to stage of fascination and awe with the sheer limits or rather the lack of limits to its applications. I decided that although other subjects were fascinating enough to hold my imaginative capacities, they could not completely satisfy my thirst for implementation and application of ideas. That is, in essence the dreams in me was satisfied not the pragmatist. Both these demands however were more than satiated as my association with Nursing began. This is relatively a subject with new avenues and constant challenges enthuses me immensely and I feel that patient safety lies in reducing the medication errors in Hospitals such that both institution and hospitals are profited. As I developed the curiosity and the interest in knowing the hospitals and their functioning after my 12^th class, I would certainly be comfortable with the course that I aspire to pursue. Thus I developed an interest in adding another course which would make my career easier to serve the society in a better way. This I strongly feel that it can be achieved by pursuing education in a developed country which offers myriad programs for the particular course.

Personal satisfaction also plays a key role in my career decision. While monetary rewards are of practical importance, true job satisfaction springs from the opportunity to grow and learn within a healthcare industry. I enjoy acquiring new skills and information, which help me to adapt to the fast-changing world, as well as pique my interest in modern nursing. In addition, a career with open prospects would give me constant incentive to improve myself and to gain more knowledge. The BSN program provides the perfect training to achieve my ambitions. I am attracted by the inventiveness and uniqueness of the program, and believe that I will increase my practical knowledge of modern nursing by interacting with my classmates. I value the fact that at nursing education does not stop at the classroom, but rather continues through internships and extracurricular activities. I feel that a nursing school for students should balance theory with real-world application, and the curriculum and opportunities for hands-on training through associations, internships, and field study provides such balance. Therefore, I look forward to the well established Australian University to accomplish this task.

I am sure of securing admission in any good university in India, but the fact that although a developing nation like India has taken a deep plunge into the rapidly expanding field of Nursing the developed countries continue to be in the focal point of development in this field. I am certain that Bachelors program elsewhere would not give as wild expose or as firm a forting as one in your University.

My name is Keerthy Kanakamedala.

In my Class X, I got straight A’s in all subjects. I topped my class in Mathematics (96%) and was 2^nd in my School with an aggregate of 86%. In addition to this, I have secured good percentages in UNO Exam and Maths Olympiad which are examinations of International Standards. A constantly outstanding academic record ever since my schooling years have resulted in numerous prizes and certificates of merit. I studied Intermediate in Sri Chaitanya College, Vijayawada. Due to my great interest in Pharmaceutical Sciences, I opted for a career in the field of Pharmacy. LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

What are recommendations for ?

Recommendations are meant to provide a third-person perspective on you as an individual. While your grades/scores are supposed to represent your intellectual capabilities and your essay allows you the opportunity of presenting your point of view, recommendations by those who know you give the university an independent assessment of your skills and qualities.

Unfortunately, a number of applications ask for elaborate recommendations that are frequently a burden on faculty and superiors. It's not uncommon to hear of faculty asking the student to write his/her own recommendation and then editing them for effect. This is even more likely to be the case in a work environment, where few would like to waste their time answering often absurd questions.

In response to requests from visitors to our site, we've decided to provide some advice on how to make the most of your recommendations.

Please note that by no means do we endorse the practice of applicants writing their own recommendations. It put many students in a position they'd rather not be in. But the sad fact is that many applicants have little say in this matter.

And even if you are fortunate enough to have people around you who are prepared to write up their own recommendations for you, there are certain aspects you could try to keep in mind. Hence this section should be useful for all applicants.

Selecting the right people to recommend you :

Do they know you well enough

You don't want to go for someone who doesn't remember your name. Which is why it's always prudent to stick with immediate superiors or professors (in an academic setting). More importantly, will the university believe that they know you well enough. If the CEO of the firm where you interned is recommending you, make sure it's clear that your interaction with the recommender is apparent in the write- up. The University could very well question the credibility of a recommendation if it appears to have been manipulated.

How much credibility are they likely to hold with the university.

In academia, professors are likely to carry more weight compared to lab-assistants. In any case, make sure that the professional competence of the person recommending you is apparent.

Are they likely to give you a positive recommendation

And you want to be doubly sure of this. You may want to stay away from the unreliable ones. If necessary, approach the person and ask them upfront. Since they're likely to have written recommendations for applicants before, it's not too much to expect them to understand your anxiety. However, use your discretion in case you aren't too sure of how he/she will react.

Get some variety into your recommendations

For multiple recommendations, look out for whether the recommendations are likely to rehash the same aspects of your personality. As far as possible, get recommendations from people who've interacted with you in different situations. For example, an engineering student would be well advised to get recommendations from a professor, a lab instructor and someone like a project guide. The professor could attest to the student's keen sense of class participation. The instructor could focus on his/her skills in the laboratory and the project-guide on his/her flair for research and getting to the root of problems.

Co-ordinate your recommendations with the rest of your application

If the somewhere in rest of your application you've focussed on something like a particular project, it would be particularly useful to try and build on that by providing a recommendation from the person who guided you through that project. Likewise, if you've talked about your biggest achievement at work, how about getting your boss at the time to recommend you.

How to go about doing it

Make a list of persons you are going to ask to recommend you.

If possible, jot down a few extra names whom you could depend on in case of an emergency.

Make sure they are willing to do so.

Talk it over with them. See if they are reasonably sure they'd like to do for you. Be clear that recommendations are a pain for everyone involved, but most so for those who have to actually write them up. No one enjoys writing recommendations. And so you can't depend on someone who isn't too sure he/she'd like to recommend you.

Make sure they know what you want to do

If they knew you were interested in marketing research and not finance, maybe they wouldn't have said that you'd be a great asset to the finance class. Of course, the persons recommending you are often busy people, so you may want to give them a note alongside the rest of the material we've listed in our next point.

ShowTime

Each of the persons recommending you deserves a copy of your resume. Along with that, give them the original recommendation form and a copy too. In this copy, give them points that you'd like covered in their write-up. If the form asks them to list an incident where you displayed leadership skills, it'd make it easier for them if you have provided them with a few incidents that you think would be suitable. Let them do the descriptive part. Your job is to make sure they remember a few relevant incidents. You could even attach a note saying that you'd rather they talk about your pet project, etc.

Related Issues

Make your timeframe absolutely clear. And while we're on the topic, be considerate and give them a few weeks to prepare your recommendation. Be sure that you've given yourself a buffer of a week or two to make up for unexpected exigencies. Also clear up whether they'd like to mail the recommendation themselves or whether they want you to do the needful. Consult the application brochure to make sure you're aware of what your university prefers.

If you are writing the recommendation yourself

Make them sound different

Writing all your recommendations in the same style is just asking for trouble. Remember that these recommendations will stay on your record for a long time to come. So even if you aren't caught during the application phase, it's quite possible that they'll come to haunt you, say, when you're begging for an assistantship.

Don't use too many superlatives.

None, if possible. And never in pairs. Saying that you're the 'most brilliant' student to have walked the halls of the college is poor English and likely to result in that recommendation getting excluded if your transcripts don't back it up.

Make it believable

There's no doubt that you're the brightest student your professor has ever seen (like the dozen others who have asked him to recommend them). But if your professor puts you in the top 5% in every category that he's been asked to rank you, and your transcripts show that you averaged in the bottom 25% of your class, it's bound to raise some eyebrows. So take it easy on those adjectives and percentages. Make sure you match up the assessments in the recommendation with the hard figures that your transcripts reveal.

Try and talk about aspects of your personality that haven't been covered elsewhere

The recommendation really is a magnificent opportunity to do this. So instead of getting your professor to describe your entire project (which you've already talked about in your resume/essay), say that he saw you grow during the year that you were assisting him on the project. How your already superior fundamentals in the subject were reinforced by your having developed considerable finesse and accuracy in the laboratory.

Think of it like an essay. In fact, it is an essay. So for god's sake, give it structure and flow; and work on that content.

Try to get across outstanding achievements

Read your resume and essay again. See if this recommendation provides you with a chance to bolster some of the claims you've made elsewhere.

Co-ordinate with your goals

Think of what you'd like to be doing in the near future. For example, science and engineering students generally seek assistantships in research or teaching once they're at their university. It's quite likely that the person reviewing your application for an assistantship will look at your application recommendations. If someone recommending you has said something about your having presented a seminar on 'Big dams are examples of poor engineering', or having conducted outstanding research as part of your project, it would substantially add to your chances of clinching the assistantship.

Use discretion and good judgement

Since you're depending on others for this part of the application, your staying sensible is of utmost importance. Everything from scheduling meetings with the person recommending, to giving them a deadline, to suggesting what they should highlight in their assessment requires a lot of tact on your behalf.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Dreams, dreams are what we live for, what we believe in, and what we want to achieve. We live because we dream. I had my childhood ambition of doing something great, something different for my family, my country, the entire human race and myself. I've always had this little dream of doing something big.

Every Child is born, with some inherited characteristics, into a specific socio-economic and emotional environment, and trained in certain ways by figures of authority. I inherited Honesty and Self - Discipline from my father; from my Mother, I inherited a faith in goodness and deep kindness and so did my brother.

In the pursuit of knowledge, I had always adopted an austere approach in order to attain a profound understanding of the subject at hand. This has amply reflected in my consistently well performing career, always in the top 2% of the class and having received numerous awards.

My innate strengths have been my quantitative and analytical abilities, which implanted in me a special interest for mathematics and basic sciences. My bent towards mathematics and analytical skills has impelled me to choose mathematics, physics and chemistry as my major at my 10+2. A rank in the top 1% among the students who took EAMCET, a screening test taken by no less than 1, 00,000 students in our state helped me get into the bachelors program in “Computer Science” from Swami Ramananda Tirtha Institute of Science &Technology, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. A well-structured and comprehensive curriculum here, along with an experienced faculty, has given me a broad prospective and better understanding to the fundamentals of core Computer Science subjects viz., Computer Organization, Operating Systems, Database Management Systems, Computer Networks, Neural Networks, Object Oriented Programming, Design and analysis of Algorithms, Computer Graphics, Software Engineering etc.

In the course of my education three teachers shaped my thinking. Their combined contributions formed the foundation on which I planed to built my professional career; these teachers were T.Madhu, M.V.Narayana and M.Ravinder Each one of them had very distinct personalities, but they shared a common impulse – the capacity to feed their students’ intellectual hunger by sheer brilliance and untiring zeal.

Swami Ramananda Tirtha Institute of Science &Technology is not only unique in providing the best academic resources but is also one of the very few colleges which offer the option to do in-house research as an undergraduate, in collaboration with various industries. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

“Time and Tide wait for no man”, this we all know. Hence, having done an inspiring four-year course in Electronics and Communication Engineering, I would like to put to use this knowledge to do my Masters in Computer Science. This would give me the leading edge in technology and the practical low-down and information I require. For this, research would be of prime importance with hands on experience in real time applications accompanied by in-depth knowledge of the subject. Technology today, means power in the widest sense of the term and not merely the power of mind. And it is this power potential that has given it the status it now enjoys. While all this is generally true, since India has been a late comer in the field of science, she has to make up an enormous leeway.

India is one of the few countries in the world whose tradition for scientific investigation is very ancient. The need today is to revive her ancient spirit and organized scientific research on modern lines so that the benefits of knowledge in technology can be applied to the well being of the common man. If the country is to catch up with the rest of the world the scientific attitude must replace her traditional mood of thought and action. India’s needs of technical personnel are not only quantitative but qualitative also. To help her achieve these goals and to provide her with a quality engineer, I would like to study further and learn the latest in computer technologies. This would all be fulfilled by Masters in the United States of America.

Electronics has always fascinated me ,I am aware of concepts of signal processing and microprocessors what got me more enthused in this area was when I learnt about microprocessors, that’s when I realized how the two fields could be merged along with the theory I was the only student working with MATLAB along with my theory subject digital signal processing, also being a member of the internationally acclaimed institute of electrical and electronic engineers (IEEE currently communication society, next year I will be enrolled for signal processing society) has given me the opportunity to keep with the latest in today’s advancing technology. I am also used to put MATHEMATICA software into progress in several mini projects.

You might ask as to why a degree from the United States of America only. Since 1994 computers have been out performing automobiles in terms of units sold annually in the U.S.A. All in all computers contributed nearly 10% of the United States of America GDP. The United States of America is way ahead of any other nation in computer technology, manufacture and sales and would thus provide me with the best infrastructure and know-how currently available. All these factors coupled together make the United States of America an ideal place to pursue my further studies I have no doubt that your esteemed University is ‘the’ appropriate one for me, since it provides a unique mix of educational advantages. Here, I will receive an education that gives me both, the technical skills and the intellectual discipline to become a leader in industry.

During my undergraduate course in the Department of Electronics I have consistently scored above 60 %, which is a matter of great pride for me, as very few students have achieved this feat. However, I am of the opinion that theoretical work alone is of little use unless it is accompanied by practical knowledge. I believe that I would be a suitable applicant for Research work in the university since I’ve always been inclined towards practical tasks and the everlasting quest to learn more. “Knowledge is power”, says Bacon. “A wise man is strong and a man of knowledge increases the strength”. Knowledge is all-powerful and love of knowledge is a pre-requisite for any success in life. If education means merely book knowledge or the passing of periodical examinations, then I am afraid. Education should be a medium for the unfolding of ones inborn activities, enabling him to use his mind, eyes, ears, and hands, as they should be used. This is the kind of education I would want, and one that I know your university will equip me with.
